A small but popular area in NW DC is located between Chinatown and the National Mall on the far Eastern end of Downtown DC. This area has become popular thanks to the proximity to the Verizon Center (formerly the MCI center) and several new condo buildings. Popular restaurants, wine bars and Starbucks are plentiful as well as close proximity to the National Mall museums, the Newseum, and of course the FBI building.
Most of the residences here are condo units, which has retails spaces on the ground floors, and condos on the higher floors. The average property for sale here is a 1-bedroom condo in the low 400k's.
The area is bounded by Pennsylvania Ave to the South, F Street to the North and between 4th and 9th Streets.
The closest Metro station is the Navy Memorial/Archives/Penn Quarter Station (Green & Yellow Lines) and the Chinatown/Gallery Place Station (Red, Yellow & Green Lines) just to the North.
