
The city of Alexandria in a city in itself in Northern Virginia. Nestled along the Potomac River; is Old Town. It's large concentration of restaurants, shops and boutiques.
Once part of the District itself; it was returned to the State of Virginia in 1846. The boarders old Old Town are not exact; they are approximately: boarded by the Potomac River to the East, Bashford Lane to the North, West and Payne Street to the West and Jefferson Street to the South. The center retail areas of Old Town are along King Street and Washington Street.
This area has many housing options. From High-Rise condos along the river starting in the upper 200k's to 200+ Year old Renovated Row-homes in the 1-2 Million dollar range. This area often provides those who want a DC neighborhood feel with a little more space for less money. The trade off being - a slightly longer commute.
Alexandria is served by Two Metro Station; both along the Blue and Yellow lines. The King Street Metro and the Braddock Road Metro. Amtrak and the Virginia Commuter Rail line also has a stop near the King Street Metro.
