Rushing into a decision...

Last week we had the opportunity to work with some great clients.  They were "going to buy this weekend!".  Well we showed them property; they found something and wanted to "sleep on it".

At 5pm Friday the Listing agent informs us there is another offer coming in and if we want it; we need to write the offer tonight.  OK; so we swing into action. A favorite lender gets a phone call at 6pm on a Friday night; he finishes pulling credit and reviewing financials at 9pm.  The last papers signed and faxed by 10pm.

The next morning we get the call.

"You got it".

The buyers are thrilled; if not a bit dizzy by the whole set of events of the past 24 hours.

Monday comes.  They lock in interest rates; order the appraisal; we schedule home inspections and deliver condo documents.

Tuesday comes and the buyers are even dizzier.  They can't go on.  The bail on the purchase.

Now I must say; that they were completely polite and appreciative of the time and effort everyone put through (without earning anything).

The morale of this story is simple:   Buying a home is a huge decision and once the process starts; it can move extremely fast.  If you have 2nd thoughts; talk with friends, trusted advisors or your Real Estate Professional.  Know what the steps are during the process and know that once you find the home; things happen FAST !
