Buying a Home is a big deal - HUGE deal. Many 1st time buyers are very nervous; it's to be expected.
I currently have a wonderful 1st Timer who always says; "I need a lot of hand-holding" and apologizes for it.
It's OK ! That is part of my job as her agent. Hand-holding is part of it -
But the biggest part is making sure the buyer is informed and comfortable about the process.
For instance, the home inspection is an essential part of the home buying process. It's OK if the buyer is a bit nervous; and the only way to know really calm those nerves to make sure they have the knowledge.
When the inspector says; this needs repair - the buyer should know about much it will cost for repair. Of if they don't know what a sump pump does; they need to know.
Nerves are normal in the process and the only way to alleviate this is with knowledge and understanding - a responsibility of both buyer AND their buyer's agent.
