Jim Knows DC

A native of Michigan, Jim sought out the metro DC area to launch his Real Estate career.  After over 20 years in the business world working in sales and marketing Jim began his Real Estate career as a Buyers Agent for a high-producing Realtor. With his strong business sense and ability to connect with his clients, he quickly formed his own business with a strong foundation in customer advocacy demonstrating the value of his services.  New and returning clients appreciate his knowledgeable yet candid approach to their real estate needs.

Now a resident of the District of Columbia, Jim has won many Sales Awards as well as awards for Innovation in his Real Estate business.  He is also a graduate of the Real Estate Institute and an Accredited Buyers Representative as well as a Certified Relocation Specialist.

Holding three Real Estate Licenses, Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia, Jim works around the beltway with buyers and sellers.  His clients include buyers and sellers from all walks of life.  From the many 1st-Time Homebuyers, Military and Corporate Relocations, or the buyers and sellers looking for larger, and sometimes smaller, homes Jim has the experience you need to assist you in the DC Metro area.

Even during the challenging-economic times; Jim and the Downing Group have achieved increased business year over year by delivering sound advice to clients and using all the tools and resources available to achieve the clients’ goals.

In his spare time he supports charities such as Habitant for Humanity and the Washington Animal Rescue League; and can often be found walking around Logan or Dupont Circle with his Beagle-mix dog, Riley.
